Salary: Grade I. Scale 35 - £44,711 to Scale 39 - £48,710 with a professional bar at SCP 37 £46,731**

Base Location: Tameside One, Ashton-under-Lyne

The Role
This is a wide ranging role and there will be the potential to specialise within it for the right candidate, so please don’t be put off by its varied nature!
To provide legal advice and assistance and court representation for officers engaged in civil and criminal court and enforcement proceedings, including adult services.
To attend at licensing, planning, and other committees where legal advice and support is required to keep the Council safe from making unlawful decisions.
To advise the Council’s planning and highways functions.
About You
You could be about to qualify as a solicitor, or have experience and looking for a change. Either way you will have the enthusiasm and energy to take up this exciting role, together with a passionate commitment to successfully represent the public sector. A team player, you will want to learn yourself and develop others, and have the empathy and understanding required of a local government officer.
