Job Description Chef Supervisor Reports to: Catering Manager Duties To organise and control the sites operations and ensure that the food quality, presentation and service are provided to the appropriate standards as defined by the Operations/Area Manager and the Client including personally planning, preparing and cooking the meals To achieve and maintain the pence per meal in accordance with the budget To consistently seek and implement ways of improving the quality and cost effectiveness and standards of the service To ensure that plant and machinery are maintained and operated to the standards required by the Statutory, Local Authority and Company Health, Safety, Fire and Hygiene regulations and policies. Similarly, to ensure that the employees use safe methods of work and that no unauthorised person cleans / operates certain specified equipment To develop and maintain effective working relationships with the Client contact and with the customers through regular and appropriate contact. To report to the line manager matters discussed with the Client and customers Assist with stock control as required To plan the production of the menus and order all foodstuffs in accordance with the Company's Purchasing Policy and Procedures and to check and record the amounts, prices and condition of all supplies and deliveries. To avoid unnecessary wastage and deterioration of foodstuffs To motivate the team on a daily basis To ensure that the Company food safety and health and safety Policy and Procedures are applied continuously and that there are no breaches of Statutory or Local Authority Regulations. To carry out company bookwork and reporting procedures in accordance with Company Policies and Procedures.
