Job summary Applications are invited for the Service Manager role for Plastics, Burns and Trauma Directorate. Responsible and accountable for the day to day operational services of the Business Units, supporting General Manager in the delivery of the access targets and clinical standards on behalf of the Trust. To actively participate in the development of services ensuring the efficient and effective use of resources in delivering high quality patient-centred care. Support the General Manager to ensure Business Units deliver planned levels of activity, whilst delivering of agreed performance targets within the Business Units. Support the management of all non-medical staff within the Plastics Business Unit, ensuring that all clinical rotas are well managed across the units. Ensure that financial balance is achieved within areas of responsibility and support in identifying and delivery of cost improvement programmes year on year. To ensure that operational processes are in place and fit for purpose. Main duties of the job Supporting the General manager in delivery of all associated access targets and clinical standard indicators, including the responsibility for ensuring utilisation and delivery of information management and technology initiatives within the business unit including eRS, electronic document management. Responsibility for ensuring SOPs are in place and delivered for all appointment and booking processes pertaining to the business unit. Establish communication networks within and outside the Business Unit, responsible for the recruitment selection and appointment of all non-medical staff working within the Business Units. To be responsible for all staff performance issues such as disciplinary, capability and sickness problems within the Business Unit.
