Are you an early career Occupational Therapist (OT) looking to expand your experience? Or are you about to graduate and looking for your first OT role?
Sheffield Teaching Hospitals are looking for enthusiastic, passionate, caring OTs to join our Therapy teams. You will have the opportunity to complete 6 monthly rotations across a variety of different clinical areas across both acute, out-patient and community care settings. Rotations include neurology, orthopaedics, medicine, surgery and community teams. This a fantastic opportunity to develop in your OT career and increase your clinical skills, knowledge and experience, all while working in a supportive environment to help build on your confidence. With the Trust providing multiple specialist and regional services, we're a fantastic place to start, or develop your OT career with different opportunities.
We're proud to invest in our OT staff, with the opportunity to join our preceptorship programmes, regular supervision and participation in local specialist training and education. There are opportunities for student supervision and a wide range of champion roles within the departments.
Main duties of the job
The Therapy Services department provides integrated Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy to patients across Sheffield, South Yorkshire and beyond.
You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide personalised OT assessment, care, advice, and interventions to make a difference to patients, and help them adapt to day-to-day tasks and improve their quality of life.
You will have opportunities to participate/contribute to service development and projects within the department as well as providing support to the wider OT team, assistants and students.
We are working with the newly formed 'Care Transfer Hub' around rehabilitation and discharge planning roles. We are running several pilots to test new ways of working to promote prevention of deconditioning and rehabilitation.
