We have a great permanent opportunity to join our Learning & Development team as Learning & Development Consultant!
As the Learning & Development (L&D) Consultant you’ll be tasked with establishing, project managing and maintaining Learning & Development Programmes for colleagues at all levels to help develop our strategic capabilities as an organisation. This is a great opportunity to experience all areas of learning and development, including supporting technical and specialist, performance and talent, and leadership and management development programmes.
At AXA we work smart, empowering our people to balance their time between home and the office in a way that works best for them, their team and our customers. You'll work at least 40% of your week away from home, moving to the majority of your working week from September 2025. Away from home means either attendance at one of our Derry, Belfast or Dublin head office locations, visiting clients or attending industry events.
What you’ll be doing:
1. Collaborate with the L&D Manager, L&D Team, the wider Capability and People Team and business stakeholders and subject matter experts to design, launch, manage and evaluate new and existing learning and development initiatives and campaigns across AXA Ireland.
2. Work within absolute confidentiality and discretion to support and enable team and individual development plans across the business.
3. Based on colleague learning needs identified, help determine appropriate delivery mode, support with programme design, delivery, and evaluation as appropriate.
4. Develop and implement companywide communication campaigns to engage colleagues in learning initiatives.
5. Work with suppliers, participants, and the business to develop delivery calendars and work with the L&D Coordinator to schedule workshops and sessions.
6. Ensure learning records are created and kept for all activities on YES – work with the L&D Coordinator and People Data Analyst to create regular reports.
7. Support the design of blended learning solutions, materials, campaigns and communications, including curating and creating content for learning hubs and playlists on Yes Learning.
8. Coordinate the procurement and invoicing process for L&D activities prudently and ensure we get the most value from all spend.
9. Support the L&D Manager with managing and coordinating existing L&D programmes throughout the year.
10. Manage the logistics and rollout of our in-person and virtual training programmes.
11. Contribute to other People Team projects e.g. people systems rollout as required.
12. Optimise the various funding opportunities available through government agencies e.g. Skillnets, Invest NI etc.
Minimum Requirements:
1. Minimum 2-3 years’ experience of training groups of people in a classroom and virtually, with ability to create an engaging and fun learning environment in a classroom setting online or in person (essential).
2. Formal qualification in training and development or similar related topic (desirable).
3. APA/CIP (desirable).
4. Knowledge of learning management systems is of benefit. e.g. Cornerstone.
5. Experience in designing and/or delivering digital/blended learning experiences.
6. Experience managing and coordinating multiple small projects at the same time with multiple business stakeholders.
7. Knowledge and experience in using adult learning and instructional design theories to design, deliver, and evaluate effective and engaging blended learning solutions and programmes for our colleagues.
As a precondition of employment for this role, you must be eligible and authorized to work in Ireland and/or the United Kingdom.
