We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated person to join the Acute Medical Unit administration team in a ward clerk role. The Acute Medical Unit is linked to the Emergency Department and GP services and is based at the RD&E main hospital site.

Our team is made up of an Admin Services Manager, an Admin Line Manager, a Team Leader and there are members of our friendly dedicated admin staff.
We have a team of Ward Consultants, Doctors as well as Clinical Nurse Managers and Nursing staff to look after.
The Acute Medical Unit deals with approximately, admissions per year and is an exciting and stimulating place to work. You will deal with referrals from the Emergency Department and also from GP’s, admitting patients onto the ward and dealing with their subsequent pathway through the hospital, updating and recording data from their admission.
You must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a pleasant telephone manner. It is essential that you have the ability to deal with patients and relatives calmly, sensitively and efficiently both on the telephone and in person.
You will need to have the ability to use your own initiative, prioritising your workload to meet the changing needs of the department.

Working pattern: 2 days per week ( hours per week) on a rolling 4-week Rota. Copy of the Rota available on request.
