We are looking for an Assistant Site Manager for a long term FREELANCE role in Sunderland.

My client is a House building contractor, who work in the residential sector building 2 - 4 bed homes. Our Client builds new traditional homes. As a result of expansion and new developments, they are currently looking to recruit an experienced House building Assistant Site Manager to work with them on a Temp basis.
As an Assistant Site Manager, you will need to be established and confident in running a site and managing trades. Having a traditional House Building background is not essential but would help. This role is extremely hands-on where you will be more out on site looking after trades and making sure the site runs smoothly rather than operating this from the office.
You'll be working closely with HSBC inspections and overlooking the pre-plaster stage where you might be signing them off or working closely with customer care works.
Responsibilities:
1. Reporting to the Project / Contracts Manager on the progress against the programme.
2. Maintenance of company required Health & Safety procedures / initiatives including PPE, Site Inductions, Management of Method Statements/Risk Assessments, Work Permits, Scaffold/Lifting equipment inspections.
3. Adherence to the Company quality standards including Management of defects, compliance with specification, compliance with materials/workmanship schedules, subcontractor code of conduct, considerate Constructors Scheme.
4. Helping keep the site clean and tidy.
5. Helping to lead and coordinate the site team.
6. Assisting with the preparation of the Health and Safety file.
7. Maintaining and updating the Construction Phase Health & Safety plan as works proceed.
8. Liaising with the client, consultants, contract administrator, head office etc.
9. To be responsible for the opening and closing of the site facilities.
10. Management of site facilities; welfare, toilets, offices, compound area etc.
11. To assist in the management of project specific preliminaries.
12. Coordinating the Sub-Contractors as appropriate.
13. Preparation / assistance with the site progress reports.
14. Safe storage and coordination of materials.
15. To be responsible for the accurate/timely completion of site-based documentation.
16. Attendance at project and company related meetings.
17. To ensure all relevant resident and public complaints are resolved efficiently.
