Counsellor Salary: £31,892 - £39,735 (pro-rata) Holiday: 35 days per annum (including public holidays) Hours: 22.5 hours / week (part-time) Sponsorship: Not applicable for this vacancy Closing date: Friday 9 May 2025 A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A Counsellor What you'll be doing Reporting to the Bereavement Services Manager, you can expect your working day to include: · Working creatively to identify and address individuals bereavement needs. · Support Individuals and their families to understand and express their grief where complexities may exist · Working with volunteers and the wider team to develop engaging group work/peer support sessions. · Providing guidance and signposting to third party organisations · Closely working with colleagues to continually evolve the service to meet the needs of bereaved adults. · Proactively responding and managing a caseload WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU We hire mostly on personality & potential but here are a few of our requirements To succeed in the role of a Counsellor you will need the following qualities and skills: · A passion for supporting people to talk openly about death and dying. · Empathy, patience and a positive attitude. · Proactive planning of your working week. · Believe in empowering the individual in their grief journey WHAT WE OFFER At Highland Hospice we believe our people are our biggest assets and understand the value in putting them first.
