Position: Electrical Maintenance Technician/Engineer
Contract: 6-12 month Temporary Contract (full time)
Location: Wigan, Greater Manchester
Rate: £25 - £40 per hour (4.5 days per week)

PRS has engaged with a new client, a leading manufacturer of electrical & electronic equipment based in Wigan, Greater Manchester. Due to an increase in production, we are seeking an Electrically biased Maintenance Engineer/Technician on a temporary/contract basis for 6-12 months.
Requirements:
1. Level 3 maintenance electrical qualification
2. Minimum 5-year maintenance experience
3. Able to use a multi-meter safely and confidently to measure live voltage, current, and resistance
4. Fault find on electrical components (e.g., MCB, OL, Contactors); test 3-phase power/motors for faults and make repairs
5. Understand electrical drawings (e.g., DOL starter)
6. 80% of the work will be routine PM work, inspections, changing out components, visuals, etc., with some installation/fault-finding/project work when required
Fundamental Purpose:
To ensure the maintenance, servicing, and repair of all equipment to maintain the continuity of the manufacturing operations and the safety of production personnel.
Principal Accountabilities:
1. Maintaining plant and equipment throughout the site
2. Working as part of a team and independently
3. Utilizing own initiative to fault find & rectify problems
4. Carrying out PPM maintenance tasks
5. Assisting on breakdowns when required
6. Utilizing CMMS (SAP)
7. Carrying out work orders and returning them to their supervisor in a timely manner
8. Ensuring the safety of themselves & colleagues
9. Maintaining a tidy workplace after work completion
10. Fast and efficient work completion, with the ability to prioritize as required
11. Promoting continuous improvement work
Requires:
1. Qualified to City & Guilds III standard within a time-served Electrical Apprenticeship
2. At least four years' experience in a maintenance environment
3. Ability to carry out basic mechanical duties confidently and effectively, including following engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, schematic drawings, and working instructions
4. Working knowledge of PLCs (Allen Bradley / Siemens)
5. The ability to communicate effectively and constructively with both peers and management
6. Good skills in all Microsoft Office tools and computer systems (e.g., SAP)
7. Self-sufficient with the ability to work under minimal direct supervision
8. Flexibility to work outside normal hours and to cover holidays and absences is necessary
