EYFS Teaching Assistant
Are you passionate about early childhood education and making a positive impact in the lives of young children? We are looking for a dedicated and caring EYFS Teaching Assistant to join our team at a specialist school in Whitehaven. In this rewarding role, you’ll support children with additional needs, helping them build confidence, develop key skills, and thrive in a nurturing environment that values learning through play.
What You’ll Be Doing:
* Provide one-on-one and small group support for children with SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities), helping them engage with learning through creative play and interactive activities.
* Work closely with teachers to adapt play-based learning activities to meet the individual needs of each child.
* Foster social and emotional development by encouraging play that builds confidence, independence, and resilience.
* Assist with daily routines, ensuring a smooth and supportive learning environment for the children.
* Support children on off-site trips, helping to ensure positive and enriching experiences.
What We’re Looking For:
* TA qualification or relevant childcare/education qualification (preferred).
* Experience working with children or adults with SEND is highly desirable.
* A caring, patient, and adaptable approach to supporting young children.
* Strong communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a collaborative team.
* A genuine passion for learning through play and making a difference in the lives of young learners.
Details:
* Location: Whitehaven
* Hours: 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM, weekdays, Term time only. This is a flexible role that allows you to choose up to 5 days per week depending on your availability.
