HVAC Design Engineer
Location: Manchester
Salary: £50,000 - £60,000
A Brand New Opportunity for a Mechanical Design Engineer local to Manchester. This company specializes & advises on all aspects of design (HVAC focused). They focus on occupied offices, new builds, high security sectors, healthcare and more.
As a Mechanical Design Engineer you will receive:
1. £50,000 (Doe)

Responsibilities:
Pre-Contract
1. Prepare M&E tender documents for D&B projects as and when necessary
2. Undertake technical review of clients’ documentation and specifications, producing commentary and guidance on the risks and complications posed
3. Identify Value Engineering Options
4. Attend client site visits
5. Attend client interviews
6. Undertake analysis of sub-contractor quotations, make recommendations regarding contractor selection
7. Comment on procurement schedules
8. Comment on installation programmes
9. Manage/review M&E design process
10. Manage and review the validation process – clarify the scope of what validation covers
Post Contract
1. Review final package scope and cost for all MEP works
2. Assist with final selection of supply chain partners
3. Assist in the suitable procurement of materials, labour and services from specialist sub-contractors / consultants. Improve our buying (price and service levels) without resorting to post contract subby bashing
4. Comment on MEP sub-contractor’s financial variations and final account
5. Manage new power, gas, water and telecoms services to site (if applicable)
6. Review & Assist – Technical Design - MEP element of online document control systems
7. Attend client progress meetings Inc. the production of a MEP progress report for inclusion within the PM’s report
8. Monitor MEP progress on site
9. Manage MEP close out / commissioning
Commissioning
1. Manage the commissioning process – develop a schedule of what’s expected
2. Comment on commissioning programmes
3. Facilitate MEP client training
