Job Title: Finance Business Partner
Location: Belfast – Full-time (Hybrid – 3 days in the office)
Rate: Competitive
Length: 12 months
As a Finance Business Partner, you will provide financial and commercial support to key stakeholders, driving optimal business decisions and enhancing financial and commercial performance. You will be responsible for managing and controlling operating costs and revenue reporting, ensuring efficiency and achieving financial targets.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide commercial and financial support for business cases, influencing financial decisions through sound financial and commercial insight.
2. Communicate operating costs and revenue performance, working with commercial, transformation, and business planning teams to develop and communicate financial insights.
3. Ensure strong controls and reconciliations are in place, delivering robust variance analysis reporting on monthly actuals and full-year outlook versus the Medium Term Plan (MTP).
4. Accountable for monthly reporting, outlook, and medium-term planning for operating costs and revenue.
5. Highlight risks and opportunities, driving actionable improvement plans.
6. Manage direct labour, energy costs, fleet, fuel, stores, supply chain, and other operating costs.
7. Conduct budget vs actual price/volume analysis on revenue performance.
8. Provide financial accountability, control, assurance, and stewardship for revenue.
9. Partner with commercial and business planning teams to identify risks and opportunities, monitor product performance, and drive excellent commercial decision-making.
10. Deliver the commercial financial plan, providing analysis and insight to inform business decisions, including complex commercial and financial modelling.
Skills and Qualifications:
1. Strong communication skills, able to convey financial performance to non-finance audiences.
2. Advanced Excel and financial modelling abilities.
3. Experience in positively influencing business performance.
4. Pragmatic team player, adept at holding others to account while delivering on commitments.
5. Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and projects, working to tight deadlines.
6. Ability to manage ambiguity and provide clear guidance.
7. Fully qualified accountant with a bachelor's degree in business or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Desired Attributes:
1. Excellent communicator, providing clear and concise reporting at the executive level.
2. Strong stakeholder management skills, building deep relationships with business partners.
3. Ability to drive best practices across the business while fostering local ownership.
4. Experience in using data, advanced financial modelling, and analysis to inform decision-making at a senior management level.
