Binnies an RSK Group company is looking for a Technical Author to join us as part of our @one Alliance.
What will you be doing as our new Technical Author?
As our new Technical Author, you’ll be responsible for data collation, handling, management and delivery of Digital Operating Manuals (which includes health & safety files, technical drawings, operation & maintenance data, original equipment manufacturer documentation) for a portfolio of projects.
You’ll ensure that the operation & maintenance information submitted to AW Operations is timely and of the quality expected, this data will be crucial to the business for supporting effective operating & maintaining of assets over their lifecycle.
Key responsibilities:
1. Responsibility for publishing Digital Operating Manuals and delivery for a portfolio of capital projects. Ensure collation, handling, quality reviewing and management of all new and updated project documents & drawings are completed to project completion forecast dates.
2. Provide regular reports on the progress of the DOM Information Delivery Plan (DIDP) for all Alliance schemes in your portfolio. The DIDP is a key reporting tool for monitoring progress of DOM production.
3. Manage the collation of data to ensure that the Digital Operating Manual contains all the relevant required information.
4. Liaise with Project Teams to ensure that they understand the Digital Operating Manual data requirements and are managing that data collation.
5. Participate as part of the team driving improvements in asset data management, such as trialling and implementing new tools and processes.
6. Assist the project teams to develop the Project Specific DIDP (DOM Information Delivery Plan) at the relevant Delivery Milestone.
7. Publish Digital Operating Manuals to SharePoint & produce hard copy manuals for AW OPs to hold on site including:
Transfer and delivery of data & files from BIM360 into SharePoint Placing of data & files in SharePoint
Assign Metadata to the files in compliance with ISO19650 standard.
Author relevant sections of the DOM using standard template and insert hyperlinks for files associated with that DOM
A little bit about your skills, experience and behaviours….
To join us on the team, you’ll have experience in the use of BIM360 / Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) or equivalent digital delivery tools and working within data management, governance and data quality. You’ll have a strong understanding of information management principles and best practices, (for example) knowledge and awareness of the UK BIM Framework: BS1192, PAS1192 and ISO 19650 suite of standards (Part 1 & 2).
You’ll be an excellent team player who can build strong working relationships with an inquisitive nature and the drive to work with others to get to the root of a problem.
