It is envisaged that the appointee will contribute both to core urology and to take an active role in extending the current service provision in Stones and Endourology, to cover the increasing demand for Urological service in North Wales.
Modern 21st Century surgery is undertaken in a designated urological theatre equipped for almost all types of modern urology, including Holmium laser surgery (stones and prostate), flexible ureterorenoscopy, Percutaneous Nephrolithotomy (PCNL) and mini-PCNL, transurethral resection in saline, penile prosthesis and artificial urinary sphincter implants, all treatments for female urinary incontinence, as well as Rezum and Urolift surgery (for benign prostate disease).

Qualifications
Essential
* FRCS (Urol) or equivalent.
* Full GMC registration.
* Entry on the GMC Specialist Register via CCT or CESR (CP) - proposed CCT date must be within 6 months of interview. CESR or European Community Rights equivalence must be confirmed by GMC by date of AAC.
Desirable
* Further higher qualification.
* Stones / Endourology fellowship.
Experience
Essential
* Satisfactory completion of a recognised training programme or equivalent urology programme.
Academic Achievement, Research and Publication
Essential
* Exposure to research methodology. Good academic training together with research and publication an advantage.
Teaching and Education
Essential
* Experience and interest in teaching both junior medical and non-medical staff.
* Evidence of commitment to continuing professional development and lifelong learning.
