Registered Forensic Psychologist – HMP

Salary: £58,000 per annum

Role Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Registered Forensic Psychologist (RFP) to work within HMP - York. You will be part of a pioneering team committed to rehabilitation, providing expert psychological support to both prisoners and staff.
As an RFP, you will work directly with prisoners, staff, and stakeholders under the supervision of a Principal Psychologist to ensure the delivery of high-quality psychological services that align with professional standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide specialist psychological assessments and interventions
* Lead and supervise trainee psychologists within the team
* Ensure psychological services adhere to HPC Standards of Proficiency and Ethics
* Support rehabilitation programs that aid prisoner resettlement
* Assist in parole assessments and report writing
* Develop and implement strategies for reducing reoffending rates
Requirements
* Registered Practitioner Psychologist with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
* Minimum two years of post-registration experience
* Supervisory experience, including overseeing Trainee and Assistant Psychologists
* Experience working within secure or custodial settings preferred
* Familiarity with the Parole Board process and psychological risk assessments
* RAPP registration (desirable)
