Job Title: Commercial Officer
Working Pattern: Full Time Standard Office Hours
Working location: Bristol/Hybrid
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic and highly motivated individual to join the Rolls-Royce Defence team as a Commercial Officer. As a Commercial team we empower people to win and deliver better business. You will be able to build relationships and influence across the organisation. You'll have an aptitude for understanding the business and how to shape our commercial deals to make sure we balance risk and reward across a culturally diverse range of customers. You'll then be comfortable reflecting this in our contracts through negotiation and drafting, supported by a network of specialists.

What you will be doing

We are seeking individuals who possess analytical skills, can exercise sound business judgement, are articulate and confident dealing with ambiguity and with a willingness to learn.
Key Responsibilities:
* Empower capture teams to win and deliver better business by supporting the development of accurate, timely and innovative contractual solutions with our customers and partners.
* Draft and negotiate contract terms with customers using appropriate techniques, strategies and engaging the right subject matter experts.
* Identify potential risks and liabilities in concepts, proposals and contracts and implement appropriate means to manage these.
* Instruct and administer new and existing business agreements providing trusted advice and guidance to ensure understanding of Rolls-Royce and customer obligations and contract points.

Key Qualifications & Skills to be successful in this role:
* Sound business and commercial acumen including the ability to interpret commercial issues and understand the commercial components of deals and how to influence them.
* Effective interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing to a range of audiences.
* Collaborates well in a team environment, building relationships across the business and working collaboratively with other business areas and corporate functions.
* Previous commercial and contracting experience would be advantageous.
