The practice, formed in 1981, has enjoyed steady growth with works carried out throughout the UK from offices across the country.
Crouch Waterfall’s main focus is within five main areas: Buildings, Rail, Bridges, Temporary Works and Embankments & Earthworks Design. These disciplines overlap within most projects and allow Crouch Waterfall to provide a comprehensive Structural, Civil and Geotechnical Engineering design service.
Role - Senior Geotechnical Engineer:
Crouch Waterfall is currently experiencing strong growth with exciting opportunities and is looking for a flexible, practical engineer who can grow with the company to achieve the goals of the business in parallel with their personal ambitions. The position requires a BSc, BEng or MEng Engineer ideally with a minimum of four-five years’ experience in Geotechnical Engineering. Ideally, the candidate would be someone who is keen to diversify and encompass the scope of our project remits which cover domestic and commercial structures, rail, bridge and temporary works in both the public and private sectors. The candidate should be conversant with engineering software.
You will be supported and supervised by the Directors and Principal Engineers within the office and work in close conjunction with the other offices. The ideal candidate should be proactive, dynamic and intuitive, happy to work on their own initiative as well as being a team player and interacting comfortably with the other staff members. The candidate shall be approaching chartership with a recognised body.
Responsibilities:
1. Design of geotechnical structures in the temporary and permanent case.
2. Design of civil and structural schemes.
3. Providing input into schemes designed by other disciplines.
4. Review and checks of other schemes prepared by others.
5. Carrying out inspections and surveys of geotechnical structures.
6. Undertaking feasibility / option studies and other reports.
7. Working with cognisance to project programmes.
8. Providing guidance and training to more junior staff members where applicable.
Required Qualifications:
1. Relevant Engineering degree.
2. 4-5+ years’ experience.
3. Full UK driving licence and own transport would be useful but not imperative.
4. Eligible to live and work in the UK and high standard of written and spoken English.
5. Experience in the design of temporary works would be beneficial.
