About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled AWS Architect to design and implement secure, scalable, and efficient solutions in AWS for data-intensive applications. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in AWS services, strong architectural skills, and a proven track record of delivering robust solutions for high-volume data environments.

Key Responsibilities
* Design and implement secure-by-design architectures in line with NCSC Security principles and other secure architecture frameworks.
* Architect solutions leveraging AWS best practices to handle high-volume data ingestion, streaming, and processing.
* Utilise AWS services such as AWS Glue, Kinesis, and Data Pipelines for efficient and scalable data workflows.
* Develop cost-effective storage and computation solutions tailored to large-scale, computationally heavy applications.
* Create and manage secure VPC architectures, ensuring robust data transfer mechanisms, encryption, and compliance with data protection standards.
* Implement fault-tolerant, highly available architectures, including multi-region deployments.
* Monitor and troubleshoot systems in real-time using AWS CloudWatch, X-Ray, and other logging tools.
* Ensure compliance with industry standards and organisational requirements for data security and protection.
Required Skills and Qualifications
* AWS Solutions Architect – Associate certification (mandatory).
* Deep understanding of AWS services and architectural best practices for data-driven applications.
* Proficiency in AWS Glue, Kinesis, and/or Data Pipelines for handling large data volumes.
* Expertise in designing cost-effective, scalable, and computationally intensive solutions.
* Strong knowledge of VPC design, secure data transfer, encryption, and IAM policies.
* Demonstrated experience in implementing fault-tolerant, highly available architectures.
* Proficiency in real-time monitoring and debugging tools like CloudWatch and X-Ray.
* Solid understanding of Secure by Design and the NCSC Security principles.
Preferred Skills
* Advanced-level AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Solutions Architect – Professional).
* Experience with containerisation and orchestration tools such as EKS, ECS, or Kubernetes.
* Hands-on experience with serverless computing, including AWS Lambda and Step Functions.

Our Selection Process:
