St John Ambulance works at the heart of communities, supporting and enabling them to access and receive physical and mental health first aid. We do this through developing and providing effective community response and outreach services (e.g. Ambulance response, Falls response and Night Time Economy) and using our longstanding expertise to empower people with vital clinical skills and the confidence to use them (e.g. our Volunteers and Community Advocates, NHS Cadets and Young Responders programmes). There is also a buoyant social enterprise network which delivers first aid training and supplies medical consumables to businesses and consumers.
Job Summary
You will assist in the building and returning of life-saving medicine packs; ensuring all packs are safe, legal, and properly kitted. You will also process medicine pack returns, checking for compliancy and returning of medicines in a safe and legal manner. You will play an important role in the day-to-day operations of the medicine store, ensuring that operational duties and administration is undertaken in an efficient, correct, and timely manner following national processes.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Experience
8. Educated to GCSE level (Grade C) or equivalent inc. Maths & English
9. UK driving licence
10. Experience of working within a small team environment undertaking administration and using basic level IT applications
11. Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels
12. Ability to prioritise with good attention to detail
About the Role
13. Follow national policies and procedures in relation to medicine supply and management for SJA
14. Working within the National Medicine Supply Service stores on a daily basis
15. Assist in the building, processing of returns and quality assurance checks of medicine packs for first aid services, ambulance operations and community projects
16. Assist the National Medicine Supply Service team in ensuring that the medicines store is appropriately stocked and clean; ensuring that all necessary records are kept verifying this
17. Support employees and volunteers nationally to facilitate service delivery and safe working practice
