Full-Time Alternative Provision Learning Support Assistant – Southampton, Hampshire GSL Education are offering an exciting opportunity for a full-time Alternative Provision Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join a secondary school in Southampton, starting from February 2025, Easter 2025, or as soon as possible. With an annual pay rate between £17,000 to £19,000, this flexible role allows you to work up to five days per week, supporting students in the school's behaviour provision. As an Alternative Provision Learning Support Assistant (LSA), you will work with students who have been removed from their regular classes due to behavioural challenges. You will play a vital role in supporting their academic, social, and emotional development, ensuring they are equipped with the tools needed for success. Responsibilities of the Alternative Provision Learning Support Assistant (LSA): Provide tailored academic and emotional support to students in the provision of behaviour. Assist in managing and improving behaviour through consistent support and encouragement. Work collaboratively with teachers and other staff to implement individual learning plans. Support students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs as required. Build strong, positive relationships with students to foster engagement and progress. Maintain accurate records of student progress and behaviour, reporting concerns as needed. Requirements of the Alternative Provision Learning Support Assistant (LSA): Proven experience working with young people, particularly those with challenging behaviour or SEMH needs. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with students. A calm, patient, and resilient approach to managing challenging situations. The ability to work collaboratively as part of a team. Knowledge of safeguarding policies and procedures is essential.
