Berthon Lymington Marina is looking for a full-time Dockmaster to join our existing experienced team in a busy, friendly and customer-focused marina office. Berthon, Lymington Marina is a high profile, family owned Marina situated on the picturesque Lymington River, making it a popular visitor destination. Main Duties and Responsibilities:
* Taking / Recording bookings of visiting vessels.
* Planning and allocating appropriate berths
* Collecting a range of payments
* Holding and issuing keys
* Assisting owners and visitors with yacht movements, including with the company workboat and line handling.
* Carrying out a range of marina checks, including daily, weekly and monthly checks.
* Ensuring the safety of clients, staff and visitors on the marina
* Operation of CCTV
* Retailing fuel and oil using correct and safe procedures, adhering to all regulations
* Ensuring all facilities remain in serviceable condition e.g. washrooms, laundry, car park barriers
* Help maintain the facilities, pontoons, water, and the marina site in order to provide a high standard of cleanliness and appearance. Carry out pressure washing as required during the winter months.
* Liaising with other in-house departments concerning boat movements
* Event support where required
* Carry out all other duties required for the smooth running of the marina and to provide every customer the highest level of service.
The following attributes are essential for this role:
* Computer literacy using a variety of software including E-harbours and Epicor (ERP system)
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills, confident and personable with a good telephone manner
* Excellent levels of customer service
* Flexible approach for integration into a shift rota system including evening, weekend and public holiday shift patterns
* Knowledge of the leisure marine industry
* Excellent attention to detail, accuracy and recording capabilities
* Ability to prioritise tasks and organise self and juniors in a fast-moving environment
The following attributes are desirable for this role:
* Basic, sales and marketing awareness
* Understanding of utility suppliers
* Practical skills to carry out basic maintenance tasks
Qualifications in first aid, health & safety, powerboating and sailing are all desirable but not essential. Formal training where required will be provided following a successful probationary period.
