We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Reception Year Teaching Assistant to join a nurturing and inclusive early years team. This role is a fantastic opportunity to support the learning and development of their youngest pupils, helping to create a positive foundation for their education. This role begins ASAP in February 2025.
Duties of a Reception Year Teaching Assistant:
* Support the class teacher in delivering engaging and developmentally appropriate lessons and activities
* Assist in creating a stimulating and inclusive learning environment for young children
* Work with small groups and individual pupils to support their learning and development
* Encourage children’s social, emotional, and personal development through play and structured activities
* Help with classroom preparation, organisation, and tidying
* Support children with early literacy, numeracy, and communication skills
* Supervise and engage with children during playtime and lunchtime
* Provide care and support for children, including those with additional needs
* Work closely with teachers, parents, and other staff to ensure the best outcomes for pupils
Ideal Reception Year Teaching Assistant:
* A relevant childcare or teaching assistant qualification (e.g., Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant Certificate, CACHE, or equivalent)
* Experience working in an Early Years or Reception class setting
* A passion for working with young children and supporting their development
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills
* Patience, creativity, and a nurturing approach to working with children
* An understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework
