VACANCY: HEALTH & SAFETY MANAGER We currently have a fantastic opportunity for a Health & Safety Manager to join our team on a permanent basis. The successful candidate, reporting to our Factory Manager, will join our team at Middleton where we produce classic British Brands alongside authentic Japanese sushi seasonings and vinegar. With a passion for continuous improvement and improving cross-department ways of working, the Health & Safety Manager will have a strong focus on aligning approach and processes with Mizkan’s Bury St Edmonds site as well as ensuring compliance with legislation, reporting and adopted standards. Your responsibilities: As a key member of the site management team, you will: Be accountable for ensuring the site’s health & safety management systems are up to date and are compliant with health & safety legislation and Mizkan Euro local rules. Act as a source of information and advice to maintain site statutory compliance. Assist with the management of site health & safety projects, training and risk assessments, working with departmental teams to ensure all are kept up to date and accessible. Ensure all health & safety related issues above manager level are reported to the site Factory Manager and Operations Director as applicable. Promote health & safety standards and behaviours by leading by example, coaching others and challenging unsafe practises and behaviours. Lead on ensuring the site OHSMS ISO 45001 certification is maintained. Provide support to department managers in relation to control of chemicals and CoSHH assessment. Supports the Senior Leadership Team in creating an engaging and proactive safety culture. Must lead by example in embracing the two principles; to offer only the finest products and continuously challenge the status quo.
