We are looking to recruit a suitably experienced Buildings Project Manager, qualified to the level of HNC / HND / Degree in Construction, Buildings or Building services with an extensive knowledge of Construction management, planning and delivery of projects. Experience of working with Technical ‘CAD’ drawings, Construction Design and Management regulations (CDM) and experience of delivering projects in healthcare would be a significant advantage.
Experience in managing building & engineering projects, from planning through to completion, commissioning, and handover. Experienced in risk assessments, health and safety standards in a Healthcare estates environment. Reporting to the Head of Capital projects you will be a key member of the team responsible for delivering minor and major projects.
A key initial requirement of this role (first 18-24 months) will be to support the delivery of the National Centre for Child Health and Technology (NCCHT) project by assisting the Construction Director & project team.
This demanding role requires someone with the determination to succeed in delivering the department's objectives.
To provide effective delivery of minor and major building and engineering projects in-line with the Trust standing instructions and Estates department policies and procedures. To provide effective technical support to the Estates department and wider organisation in order to ensure the reliability and efficiency of building structure, fabric, finishes equipment and services.
To write technical specifications for building / construction / engineering projects, in preparation for tender. Working knowledge of Computer aided design packages (CAD). Training and updates will be provided.
Be responsible for placing purchase orders and authorising payment of invoices relating to Estates Capital works, at a designated level of authority. To assist in the co-ordination and development of the Departments quality system. Responsible for the undertaking of Risk assessments and implementation of actions identified through the risk assessment process.
Develop skills and knowledge of Modern methods of construction as a key driver for current and future Trust developments and projects. To have a sound understanding of the Construction Design and Management regulations (CDM) and responsibilities in the context of Hospital projects and construction schemes. Awareness and knowledge of effective management of Asbestos to deliver projects.
