We are looking for an experienced Systemic Anti Cancer Therapy (SACT) nurse.
The post holder will be responsible and accountable for the overall clinical and operational day-to-day delivery of clinical standards of care and the leadership and management of the SACT Unit.
The post holder will ensure systems are in place to ensure staff are supported and supervised appropriately.
You will work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary environment to ensure the delivery of safe, personal, and effective care with excellent outcomes and positive experiences for all service users and their significant others.
Main duties of the job
1. Ensure a robust professional approach to service delivery, development, and improvement.
2. Work collaboratively with other organisations, professionals, and agencies to ensure patient needs are met.
3. Develop and maintain communication with multidisciplinary teams on complex matters, contribute to improving quality and ensure the delivery of high quality of care, promote equality and value diversity.
4. Provide leadership and management for all staff members in the SACT Unit.
5. Address complaints by patients, members of the public, and staff in accordance with Trust values.
6. Ensure the health, safety, and wellbeing of staff, patients, and visitors.
7. Ensure patient records are maintained and that documentation reflects care provided.
8. Involve patients and carers/relatives in the planning and delivery of services within the clinical area.
9. Establish and maintain effective communication with patients and carers/relatives.
10. Be actively involved in the administration of chemotherapy and other clinical nursing duties and be the lead practitioner for training nursing staff in the administration of chemotherapy.
11. Ensure that adequate precautions are taken by self and all members of staff to minimise the risk of infection in relation to the safe disposal of body fluids, including blood products.
