ERASE: Child Exploitation and Missing Assistant Team Manager Post
In Durham we are committed to working with teenagers where they are at risk of harm outside the home (contextual safeguarding). Durham children services have developed a number of specialist teams that support young people who have a social worker of which the ERASE (exploitation and missing) team is one. We are looking to recruit a passionate and dynamic Assistant Team Manager who will be instrumental in the ongoing development of the highly motivated ERASE team, implementing quality practice that ultimately safeguards teenagers.
What is Involved?
As the Assistant Team Manager of the ERASE Team you will be responsible for staff working across both the Exploitation and Missing Teams, alongside building strong collaborative relationships with teams across Durham children Services and wider partners, such as the Police, Education and voluntary services.
The Assistant Team Manager will work collaboratively with the ASET (Adolescent Safeguarding Exploitation Team) and assist in managing resources within the wider Supporting Solutions Service including Edge of Care, Rapid response etc.
The Assistant Team Manager will contribute to the delivery of our vision and strategic priorities, by assisting in the performance of high-quality intervention to children and their families across the team.
The Assistant Team Manager will manage the team who will work with and support vulnerable adolescents and their families, with a particular focus around child exploitation and missing.
The service is countywide and based at The Nest in Nettlesworth. We operate hybrid working with home/remote working options.

What will I Need?
You will be qualified to level 3 and you will have experience and knowledge of teenagers who are risk of exploitation and missing. You will have experience of developing a team to achieve best outcomes for young people and safeguard them with regard to harm outside the home.

Hybrid Working
Durham County Council currently operates a hybrid working policy where a model of 2 days in the workplace and 3 days at home/remote will apply. This model is pro-rated for part time roles and arrangements are at managers discretion, alternatively you can work all of your contracted hours within the workplace if you prefer.
