On behalf of our public sector Client NI Housing Executive based in Newtownards, MPA recruitment welcomes suitable applications for the role of Project Manager.
The problem-solving responsibility of the grade is usually of a technical nature concerned with the solution of detailed or specific problems which arise in the application of rules and regulations, methods, and techniques.
The main duties and responsibilities of the role:
1. Ensure the brief is translated accurately, developed, and delivered by the design.
2. Ensure each project is executed within the design & quality guidelines required by the client and funders.
3. Set up and co-ordinate each project’s communications between client end users, external consultants, internal service providers and relevant estates stakeholders. Ensure lines of communication are clearly understood and that all necessary consultations take place at the appropriate stages.
Qualification and Experience
* Degree in a construction related discipline.
* Significant project management experience on a variety of construction and non-construction projects.
* Experience of project brief and design development, from initial conception, with internal & external stakeholders.
* Experience of design management.
* Procurement, from development of procurement strategy through to appointment of contractor.
* Previous experience of management of cost and quality standards.
* Experience of transition planning & management, and commissioning & handover of completed projects to point of occupation and post project review.
Desirable
* Experience in value management.
* Experience of Option/Investment Appraisals and Feasibility Studies.
* Experience in developing procedural documents for effective project management.
Essential
* Degree in a construction related discipline.
* 5 years experience in an asset management role.
* Significant project management experience on a variety of construction and non-construction projects.
* Experience of project brief and design development, from initial conception, with internal & external stakeholders.
* Experience of transition planning & management, and commissioning & handover of completed projects to point of occupation and post project review.
* Experience in developing procedural documents for effective project management.
Evidence of effective risk management in medium to large scale construction and non-construction projects, to include knowledge of relevant health and safety legislation.
Proficient in the use of general IT systems and those related to project management.
