Service Assistant - Ripon Summary We’re looking for a Service Assistant to join us at Fountains Abbey, Ripon to help our busy Welcome Team. Salary : 12.25 per hour Duration: Fixed Term Contract until 30th September 2025 Hours: 416 hours over 6 months. This role is based on annualised hours, where the amount of hours you work each week may vary, dependant on weather as this is a mainly outdoors role. Your salary will be paid in 6 equal instalments over the 6 months. The working pattern would be approximately a four hour shift, to include both weekend days and bank holiday working, this pattern can be discussed further at interview. Interview dates: Wednesday 2nd & Friday 4th April 2025 For this role, you’ll need to complete our online assessment instead of using a C.V. or online application form. What it's like to work here Joining our friendly Welcome Team, you’ll be playing a key role in the visitor experience at Fountains Abbey. We are a leading destination within the National Trust and welcome 450,000 visitors each year. This location is in a rural area near Ripon, so please think about how you would get here for work, before applying for the job. What you'll be doing The core part of your job is to give vital and positive support to your colleagues, wherever you’re needed, with a focus on greeting and helping visitors. You can expect to meet many different people and gain experience in different visitor areas. You’ll get involved in all kinds of tasks, including greeting visitors to our Studley Car Park, issuing mobility vehicles at our Westgate entrance and providing general support for the Welcome Team. Most importantly, you’ll be talking to visitors, answering their questions and making sure they can find everything they need to enjoy their day.
