The Role…
The main purpose of the Field Service Project Manager is as follows;
1. Allocates and organises the site service activities for the site services division in co-ordination with the relevant site supervisors, site managers and the site services team leader.
2. Creates the technical proposals, performs detailed planning and project management of the site service activities.
3. The FSPM is the link between the site and the head office/ engineering department during trouble shooting/ delays and for personnel allocation to specific tasks/ projects.

Due to growth of the Howden UK business & UK water market, in addition to incorporating our parent company Chart’s products into our UK service portfolio, we are opening a new facility based in Barlborough, near Sheffield.
Howden UK have been at the forefront of implementing service synergies, including working within the LNG industry, and being part of the drive to implement SDOX (a product from Chart Water). We have recently won business in the UK for cryogenic trailer repairs and overhauls so will be expanding the Howden UK organisation to establish ourselves in the market for service and repair of cryogenic trailers, ISO containers and packages gas units in the UK.
Within Chart Europe, we already have established businesses who manufacture, service and repair cryogenic trailers across our business locations in Czech, Germany, Italy and Sweden.
Barlborough will be the home of a larger Aftermarket Centre capable of executing the increased growth expected through 2025 and beyond. We are now recruiting a number of new roles to support the growth of cryogenic repairs and overhauls in the UK.
What will you do…
* Allocate FS resources to projects and prepare the resources for the job/ task.
* Ensure that all activities are carried out safely and that all EHS & quality documentation is in place. Carry out site safety inspections (Visible Felt Leadership) to ensure compliance.
* Maintain the FS resource planning document.
* Maintain contact with sales teams and clients to ensure relevant enquiries are received.
* Estimate work in accordance with enquiry documents and in line with relevant technical & statutory codes of practice.
* Attend pre and post tender meetings with the client to negotiate and clarify tender submissions.
* Project Management of Site Service projects including project planning, turnkey projects, planning of contact work & effectively manage and control site personnel
* Be aware of costs expended against budget, ensure payment applications are submitted regularly and close out completed contracts financially & technically including final reports in co-ordination with the FS Administrator.
* Carry out installation surveys, technical audits, assist with troubleshooting and commissioning activities co-ordination.
* Close out completed contracts financially and technically in co-ordination with the FS Administrator, including the submission of technical reports and recommendations.
* Create training programmes for service personnel to ensure all essential training is up to date.
* Administer the LTSA and Framework agreements.
What do you bring…
* Must have served a recognised engineering apprenticeship.
* Level 3 Engineering qualification in engineering.
* IOSH Managing safely/ CCSNG Safety Passport.
* Proven experience of Project Managing teams at sites including sub-contractors.
* Safety Focused- driving safety within the teams always.
* Substantial practical experience of running on-site contracts.
* People Management skills.
* Work Scheduling/Planning experience.
* Proven experience in estimating mechanical on site contracts.
* HNC/HND in mechanical engineering.
* NEBOSH qualified
* Experience with large fans and rotary regenerative air heaters would be an advantage
