Job Description
Our Programme Performance team help our clients optimise their P3M services; from aligning the P3M strategy with that of their business, through the development and implementation of operational structures and processes to the programme or project supported by efficient and effective mobilisation, performance management and benchmarking tools.
Our advisory team offers tailored, efficient solutions specific to our client’s individual needs, supported by a team with extensive practical experience. Our services develop in direct response to our clients’ demands and challenges and deliver tangible outcomes and benefits.
* Planning Engineers are responsible for all activities associated with the preparation and periodic progress reporting of Level 1 and Level 2 schedules.
* Support the project teams with all planning related responsibilities associated with the management of their contracts and reporting requirements.
* Participates and supports the project teams in project and programme planning and progress meetings.
* Identifies and maintains programme / project milestone and schedule interface activities.
Challenges of the Role:
* Support the planning and scheduling processes that are required to manage contracts and contractor schedules.
* Support the programmes progress and reporting requirements.
* Maintains up to date and accurate schedule interface requirements.
* Adherence to NEC contract processes for management of schedule data and submissions.
* Maintain an awareness of commitments and undertakings and support efforts to manage the requirements to avoid breach.
Specific skill and competencies:
* Previous experience in major capital projects (Defence/Infrastructure/Construction).
* Competent user in one of the following tools is a minimum requirement: Oracle Primavera P6, MS Project, Palisade @Risk, Safran, Active Risk Manager (ARM), Primavera Risk (Pertmaster), PRISM (Cost Management System).
* Demonstratable ability of following documented processes and governance and be able to display the ability & agility to innovate in creative ways to meet the challenges of the changing project environment using client specific software.
* Previous experience in working with risk managers, cost managers and project controls teams.
* Experience in completing Quantitative Schedule Risk Analysis.
* Experience in and an understanding of Quantitative Cost Risk Analysis.
* Understanding or risk and cost loaded schedules.
Qualifications
* Degree qualified in a construction related subject preferred.
* Experience in performing, monitoring, and reviewing planning and scheduling functions, which include schedule development, control, and analysis, in the field and the home office.
* Skilled in oral and written communication.
* Proficiency with PC operating systems, with proficiency in several basic software applications.
* Proficiency with multiple discipline specific software applications such as Primavera (P6) and Microsoft Office Applications.
* Intermediate level of knowledge of engineering, procurement, contracts, construction, and start-up work processes.
* Knowledge of engineering and construction management.
Other essential requirements:
Owing to the sensitive nature of the works involved in these specialist defence projects, candidates will be required to hold, or be able to hold, valid security clearance (SC) and in order to do so will need to be:
* APMG PPC (Project Planning, Monitoring & Controls).
* APM PFQ (Working towards PMQ) or PRINCE2.
* IRM L2 or MoR Practitioner.
* Minimum 2 years previous experience in Planning & Scheduling role.
