JBT currently has a great opportunity for a Planning and Logistics Coordinator to join the Proseal team just south of Manchester.
Proseal UK Ltd designs and manufactures high-quality tray sealing and conveying systems for the food industry and has manufacturing facilities in the UK, North America, and Australia. Established for 25 years, demand for Proseal products is growing, and we are responsible for developing many plastic-based alternatives for preserving and carrying food safely.
Shift Pattern/Working Hours:
Monday to Friday, with a 30 minutes unpaid lunch break each day and two paid 15-minute breaks. A total of 40 hours per week.
Your new role:
Your role as Planning and Logistics Coordinator will handle and oversee the movement of goods across our global reach to the point of consumption. This role facilitates communications with stakeholders across Proseal and other business units, reports on activity, and performs outreach to external parties, hauliers, and logistical partnerships. Our goals are to make our processes as efficient as possible and maintain good relationships with suppliers, distributors, and vendors.
Responsibilities:
* Ensure all activities undertaken and supervised are carried out in accordance with all current Health and Safety guidance, and that all shortcomings are actioned/reported as appropriate.
* Maintain and manage business unit production plans for Proseal’s portfolio of equipment. Conduct daily/weekly reviews with various departments to ensure the planning process runs smoothly and efficiently.
* Ensure communication flows between the planning team and supporting departments. Review jobs and feed back into reports, raising any risks to Operational Management.
* Facilitate the shipping of products from one destination to another. Arrange transportation and orchestrate deliveries to meet customer demand with minimal delay.
* Track, trace, and update the status of shipments.
* Manage activities throughout the order fulfillment and transportation cycle to ensure established deadlines are met.
* Continually review freight costs, transportation rates, and/or other indirect material spend to keep costs down where possible.
Aptitudes Required:
* Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
* A hands-on approach to work, with a willingness to lead from the front.
* Knowledge of health and safety regulations and their application in a manufacturing environment.
* Strong problem-solving, team building, and decision-making abilities.
* Ability to establish and maintain relationships at all levels.
Experience:
* Basic knowledge of ISO standards and logistics-related laws and regulations (Inco-terms, import, export).
* Organizational, communication, and leadership skills, backed by previous success.
* Knowledge and understanding of various manufacturing processes and components and of supply chain management.
* Experience from similar previous roles or relatable jobs is preferable.
Qualifications:
* Desired but not mandatory: accredited trade compliance training.
