Clinical Lead - Medical Staffing / Offshore Medics
Role Summary
The post holder will lead on all aspects of clinical governance to a number of organisations from different industries.
What you’ll be doing
1. Lead on clinical governance for our offshore medic provision.
2. Lead on quality improvement projects within the clinical provision of our offshore medic service.
3. Facilitate and lead the provision of our HSE Offshore medic course.
4. Provide short term offshore medic cover, if required.
5. Lead on clinical governance in our support of our Wind Energy Construction Phase projects.
6. Support our Medical Staffing Administrator in the selection and recruitment of offshore medics.
7. Support other clinical leads by providing advice on their management of their client groups and act as a mentor to more junior members of staff.
8. Lead on internal clinical governance as directed by the director of quality/Head of Clinical Governance/Chief Medical Officer.
9. Lead on GDPR and information governance within the Clinical Governance Division.
10. Attend all internal clinical governance meetings.
11. Lead on all external clinical governance matters with respective clients including:
1. Conducting first aid / medical needs assessments.
2. Producing quality improvement plans.
3. Chairing clinical governance meetings in the absence of the medical director.
4. Conducting client quality assurance visits and producing relevant reports.
5. Testing emergency response plans.
6. Detailed report writing.
7. Acting as a professional subject matter expert and represent the values and ethos of Trauma Resus at all times.
8. Provide clinical advice.
9. Support the delivery of cold debriefs following a serious incident.
12. Ensure contractual commitments are maintained regarding frequency of calls, quality assurance visits, and meetings with respective clients.
13. Ensure the external clinical governance activity programme is completed as per the schedule and reports are completed in a timely manner.
14. Ensure all actions identified as part of the clinical governance activity process are actioned within agreed timescales.
15. Provide support and advice on all matters relating to trauma, resuscitation, first aid and associated training courses in line with Trauma Resus courses, policies, protocols, and standard operating procedures.
16. Provide advice on the procurement of equipment.
17. Support the production of training material and ensure it remains current and in line with best practice, current evidence-based guidelines and recommendations.
18. Produce safety alerts, position statements and other clinical documents.
19. Escalate any concerns to the appropriate associate medical director or chief medical officer.
20. Support the design and delivery of internal instructor training days.
21. Care for all issued training equipment in line with guidance.
22. Ensure all external accreditation criteria are fulfilled and maintained.
23. Support Trauma Resus exhibitions and conferences as required.
24. Additional/ad hoc duties as required to meet the needs of the business.
Requirements
Qualifications
1. Current professional registration with either NMC or HCPC.
2. ILS / PLS / Trauma training.
3. ALS, APLS, PHTLS.
4. Level 3 Teaching & Assessing qualification or equivalent.
5. GIC / GIC instructor.
6. Full UK driving license.
7. Human Factors.
8. Leadership & Management.
9. Internal Quality Assurance qualification or commitment to achieve.
10. Risk Management.
11. Health & Safety.
12. HSE Offshore Medic Qualification.
13. GDPR or Information Governance Qualification (or similar).
Experience
1. Clinical practice dealing with patients suffering from trauma and requiring resuscitation.
2. Pre-hospital care.
3. Delivering training to a range of staff at different grades.
4. Managing clinical governance of offshore medical programme.
5. Leading & managing a team.
6. Influencing people outside of your organisation.
7. Managing risk and leading on clinical governance issues.
8. Working with accrediting bodies.
9. Facilitating offshore medic course.
10. GDPR and Information governance management.
11. Understanding challenges faced when delivering pre-hospital care.
