Job Title: Support Worker
Responsible to: Directly accountable to and taking direction from the employer (Mum)
Hours: 6 hours per week (weekends)
Hourly Rate of Pay: £11.44
Based at: Employer’s own home in Elmswell, Suffolk. And out in the local community.
Job Purpose
The purpose of the job is to support and be a friendly companion to a young girl with autism and other special needs. The child lives at home with her family. The purpose is to build a trusting, professional relationship with the child and to support her with all her needs. The child is a real character, funny and fairly strong willed.
Main duties:
To support with:
- Personal care e.g. washing, toileting..
- Constant supervision is required at all times.
- Support with all safety aspects.
- To be a social friendly companion to the child
- To support with sensory play, baking and other activites at when at home, you will be required to keep her entertained in the home.
- To build a supportive relationship and take part in activities which the child enjoys e.g. swimming / pony walks.
- Support the child on days out.
- To perform such other duties as may reasonably be required.

• A willingness to undergo any training highlighted by the employer.
• You should have some knowledge and understanding of risks.
• Experience of caring for children with special needs is essential
• Hold a clean driving licence

This post is subject to satisfactory references and an enhanced DBS check at the Employers request prior to commencing employment. This is confidential and at no cost to yourself. The post carries a 6-month probationary period.
