Responsibilities:
1. Champion the quoting process for prototype and production quotes & timing.
2. Complete the Team Feasibility Commitment / Risk Analysis.
3. Develop and maintain program budgets.
4. Collect and review program information from customers and MPS.
5. Responsible for developing and maintaining a program timeline.
6. Champion of ‘design for manufacturing’ and provide ongoing design input for conducting manufacturing feasibility and customer requirements.
7. Coordinate all aspects of prototype-related activities.
8. Manage and follow up on all new program testing, both internally and externally.
9. Provide information for input into the preliminary bill of materials.
10. Coordinate purchased components kick-off and approval.
11. Oversee kick-off and approval of new/modified tooling/gauges check fixtures (must be present for all die trials).
12. Participate in the specification, sourcing, and negotiations of assembly and tooling contracts for programs along with Process Engineering.
13. Coordinate the approval of tooling/line equipment for payment (must be present for assembly equipment in-house trials).
14. Arrange and authorize packaging development with process engineering.
15. Conduct program milestone reviews, track open issues, and report the status along with corrective actions to the GM and VP on a monthly basis through Launch Readiness Reviews.
16. Review and approve International Material Data System (IMDS) submissions.
17. Coordinate and review all process sign-offs.
18. Interface with the Quality Department and oversee the preparation of PPAP documentation and review submissions.
19. Initiate and coordinate all new program releases and engineering changes per the production ECN system.
20. Ensure the containment of new processes and parts until production is stabilized and there are no customer issues.
21. Complete production Layer Process Audits (LPAs).
22. Involved in DFMEA, PMFEA, DVP&R, FEA, product drawings, identification of key characteristics, control plan, and design review processes.
23. Communicate APQP information to customers, suppliers, sales, and plant personnel.
24. Customer interface for Project Engineering, Design Engineering, and Purchasing.
25. Track and control development costs (FSS).
26. Track and control product costs, tooling costs, and capital costs.
27. Actively drive Value Added / Value Engineering (VA/VE) activities and savings.
28. Responsible for all deliverables. Track status of “Program Deliverables” and reconcile with cost during the life of the program.
29. Support President’s Message.
30. Adopt, practice, support, and encourage KAIZEN and GEAR activities.
