Business Support Assistant

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an individual to become a member of the Business & Administration Team and provide administration support to East Region Health Protection Team. The Department of Public Health and Health Policy aims to improve and protect the health of people in Lothian as part of a whole system approach to public health in Scotland. We are looking to attract candidates that have significant experience in carrying out business and administration type tasks. This is a great opportunity to join a dynamic team of staff, developing your own skills and supporting the wide range of functions that Public Health and Health policy provide.
For this particular role we are looking for someone who has strong communication and organisational skills. The postholder will provide administrative support to East Regional Health Protection Service. The Regional Service provides Health Protection function for NHS Lothian, NHS Fife, NHS Forth Valley and NHS Borders. It should also be noted that the service is expected to move to a host board in the future.
This role will be hybrid working with 2 days minimum requirement for being in the office each week.

NHS Scotland is reducing their full-time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.
