ACS International Schools is seeking a Payroll Interim Systems Manager to join our Finance team based at our Cobham Campus.
Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, this role will work closely with our HR team to deliver a new integrated HR/Payroll System and lead on the payroll element of the project.
Principal Accountabilities:
1. Project engagement and coordination: Work with HR, the new system provider, and all other key stakeholders to deliver an efficient and effectively run project. Support overall project goal to optimise the system for both HR and Payroll use.
2. System Selection: Engage fully in the selection process, ensuring the system chosen meets the Payroll Department’s needs and exceeds the performance of the current system.
3. Develop Detailed Payroll Requirements: Develop Payroll requirements which a) are sufficiently detailed to minimise implementation risk and b) reflect a fundamental thorough review of current processes and possibilities for improvement. Liaise with Payroll Team throughout the process and ensure the final requirements are fully supported by the Payroll Team.
4. Systems Configuration: Lead the finance engagement of the new integrated system, ensuring the solution being provided delivers against the Detailed Payroll Requirements.
5. Testing and Training: Work closely with the Payroll Team to ensure the new system is thoroughly tested before implementation and that the Payroll Team have been comprehensively trained. Provide ongoing support and training to the Payroll Team during and after implementation.
6. Data Management: From a payroll perspective, lead the process of planning the data migration required prior to implementation, including comprehensive cleansing of the data to be migrated.
7. Project Coordination: Work closely with project managers to review processes and ensure the best possible user experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required:
* Significant previous experience in implementing integrated HR & Payroll systems.
* An excellent understanding of the composition of a systems implementation project.
* Experience of working in a Payroll Team (ideally in a management capacity).
* A detailed knowledge of the elements that comprise a payroll function.
* Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
* Strong IT skills (especially Excel, Word and ideally Project Management software).
* A detailed understanding of the aspects of tax and employment law that impact a payroll function.
* Experience working in a school environment would be an advantage.
Start Date: ASAP
Working Pattern: Monday – Friday 8.30am – 4.30pm.
Contract Length: 12 – 18-month FTC
