Here at OQC we’re searching for an experienced HPC Network Engineer to join our growing company. Your impact will be crucial in designing and maintaining OQC’s networks and services whilst also contributing towards the architecture and design of our global networks. You will work with a close-knit team whose aim is to provide a ‘white glove’ support level while OQC’s customers remain connected and SLA’s met. This role is unique and will really give you the opportunity to work at the forefront of emerging technologies.
Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen to work at OQC as a HPC Network Engineer to help support our current Network Engineer and provide expertise and support across our growing estate. Initially this role involves supporting OQC’s network infrastructure whilst assisting with the design, improvement and expansion. You will collaborate with a variety of teams including Software, DevOps and our Quantum teams to provide specialist network and HPC support and advise on the design and expansion of our global network. As the role evolves you will have the chance to take on individual projects and take ownership of HPC/quantum related projects. This role may require out-of-hours work to ensure our network is secure and all our systems are running smoothly.
Skills & experience
Desired
* Strong routing and switching skills - administration, support and configuration
* Solid in-depth firewall knowledge including support and configuration
* Understanding of High Performance Computing (HPC) and the ability to offer advice to all teams around HPC
* Ability to work in a fast-paced, tech-led environment that is constantly evolving
* Knowledge of Juniper OR Cisco networks and the ability to pick up new skills/technologies
* Good documentation and network design skills to contribute towards our Wiki and ITIL processes
* Experienced in implementing security standards, best practice following security frameworks (ISO, NIST, PCI, SOC, GovS007)
Preferred
* Experience of working in a global environment with the ability to support and help build a global network
* Knowledge of IaC - Infrastructure as code (Ansible, terraform)
* Experience of working with or as a Systems Administrator in a hybrid Windows/Linux environment
