The Dowling Phototherapy team delivers a range of treatments--including Narrowband UVB, PUVA, and UVA1--to adult and paediatric patients referred from general and specialist dermatology clinics. The service also supports the Patient-Initiated Follow-Up (PIFU) pathway, including nurse-led clinics focused on prescribing phototherapy and medicines management for conditions such as vitiligo and photobiology.
You will be expected to deliver compassionate, visible leadership and foster a culture of excellence. Your ability to drive service improvements while maintaining a strong focus on patient-centred care is essential. Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively across multi-professional boundaries are key.

Main duties of the job
* Provide clinical leadership and supervision to the Dowling Phototherapy team
* Clinically lead nursing care throughout the various patient pathways
* Provide education and support throughout the junior doctor rotation
* Provide education to the nursing teams, responsible for the education pathway of staff
* Enable collaboration across the multi-disciplinary teams through complex decision making
* Manage risk thus enabling the services to meet changing population, patient, and service delivery needs.
* Transformation, quality and improvement initiatives to develop the services.
Job responsibilities
We are looking for a motivated, ambitious, and flexible nurse ideally with experience in Phototherapy. Non-medical prescribing is a key aspect of this role. The successful candidate will provide clinical leadership throughout the patient pathway and collaborate with the multidisciplinary team on service transformation, quality improvement, and innovation initiatives. You will also run nurse-led clinics and actively contribute to multidisciplinary clinics, audits, and operational meetings. Opportunities to participate in teaching and research are strongly encouraged.
Applicants must have experience in leading nursing and clinical services, with a proven commitment to prioritising safety, quality, and patient experience in all aspects of care.
The successful candidate will work autonomously but will have the support of the team of consultants, clinical nurse specialists, advanced nurse practitioners and matron.

Skills
* Advanced clinical assessment and history taking
* Ability to draw on a diverse range of knowledge in their decision making to determine evidence based interventions and actively monitoring the effectiveness of therapeutic interventions
* Advanced clinical reasoning skills to comprehensively assess patients
* Experience in independently facilitating Nurse-led clinics
* Advanced theoretical and practical knowledge of speciality with a wide range of approaches to the management of photodermatology patients
* Ability to develop working relationships locally, regionally and nationally
* Broad clinical experience relevant to the post, including specialist skills and experience working as a CNS in the speciality.
* Ability to lead and work within the Nursing, medical and other professionals allied to medicine
* Experience of teaching patients and staff and others including health promotion and prevention orientation
* Possess the ability to identify and implement systems to promote their contribution and demonstrate the impact of advanced level nursing to the healthcare team and the wider health and social care sector
* Evidence of performing audit and research and dissemination of findings
* Demonstrates evidence of continuously contributing to education and teaching
