Our client is a vibrant and diverse educational institution committed to providing high-quality learning experiences for our students. We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Health and Safety Co-ordinator to ensure the safety and wellbeing of our students, staff, and visitors.
The Role:
We are looking for an experienced Health and Safety Co-ordinator to lead and promote a strong safety culture across the College. You will coordinate and implement health and safety policies, procedures, and systems of work, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead and promote health and safety awareness throughout the College, fostering a culture of safety through open engagement with students, staff, and visitors.
2. Coordinate the development and implementation of health and safety policies, procedures, and systems of work, in collaboration with the Assistant Director of Health, Safety and Environment.
3. Monitor and maintain a range of digital technologies that enhance our safety management, including DSE and Training software, Evolve educational Visits, and the internal health and safety portal.
4. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation, guidance, and best practices, and communicate changes effectively to affected parties.
5. Liaise directly with the Principal on site, providing regular updates and reports on health and safety matters.
6. Support the Curriculum and Estates teams in ensuring a safe learning and working environment.
7. Build and maintain strong relationships with curriculum and support staff, as well as external stakeholders.
Essential Requirements:
1. Proven experience as a Health and Safety Co-ordinator, ideally within an educational setting.
2. Strong understanding of safeguarding principles and practices.
3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with individuals at all levels.
4. Strong IT skills and experience in managing digital safety systems.
5. Proactive, organised, and confident approach to work.
6. Commitment to providing excellent customer service.
7. Enhanced DBS check and registration with the DBS Update Service.
8. Knowledge of relevant Health and Safety legislation.
