Our client has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer (Automation / PLC / Machinery) to work as part of their critical engineering maintenance team in Northampton.
Applicant Requirements:
1. As an experienced Multi-skilled Engineer, you’ll be qualified in electrical and mechanical engineering (minimum ONC Electrical Engineering / NVQ Level 3 – or equivalent).
2. Understanding Health & Safety legislation, you’ll have first-hand experience of maintaining automation equipment, ideally Programme Logic Controllers (PLC), along with a flexible approach and the ability to communicate complex issues effectively.

Working Hours:
1. You will work 12 hour shifts, which includes two weeks earlies 7:00am - 7:00pm, and two weeks nights 7:00pm - 7:00am, and will include rest days.
2. The successful candidate will be required to follow the shift rotation system, with some degree of voluntary flexibility to meet our 24/7 operational needs on occasion, including voluntary overtime coverage and occasional shift pattern flexibility.
Key aspects of the role include:
1. Responsible for ensuring availability and performance of automation assets through completion of effective maintenance procedures.
2. Perform maintenance tasks, including preventative, predictive and corrective maintenance.
3. Performing continuous improvement activities.
4. Provide effective and efficient support to the Engineering Manager, Maintenance Team Leads, completion of end of shift reports, fault logging and data entry.
5. Identify the root cause of automation breakdowns and prioritize corrective actions to meet operational processing requirements.
6. Monitor equipment performance and improve automation outputs in collaboration with operational stakeholders. Identifying and working on Continuous Improvement projects, conception to implementation ownership for machinery.
7. Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team to achieve common goals.
Salary & Benefits:
1. £51,051 per annum, night shift allowance of £2,500 per annum.
2. A weekend supplement for Saturday (£51 per attendance) and Sunday (£102 per attendance) shift attendance.
3. A defined contribution pension scheme, with 22.5 days (15 shifts) annual leave, plus bank holidays.
