We’re seeking a skilled Health, Safety, and Environmental Manager to join an innovative and forward-thinking business at an exciting stage of its development. This cutting-edge facility is set to transform waste management in the UK, diverting hundreds of thousands of tonnes of non-recyclable waste from landfills and converting it into renewable energy to power thousands of homes. This is a rare opportunity to play a key role in guiding the site’s journey from the final stages of construction through commissioning to full operation. You'll also have the chance to shape the future workforce and embed a culture of excellence in Health, Safety, and Environmental practices. Key Responsibilities: Manage and oversee compliance with the Environmental Management System, including internal and external audits, and the development of policies and procedures. Inspire and influence teams to adopt strong Health & Safety practices, embedding a positive safety culture throughout the facility. Lead environmental monitoring and reporting programs, ensuring all regulatory and permit requirements are met. Prepare and present regular reports on Health, Safety, and Environmental (ESG) performance, tracking KPIs and driving continuous improvement. Drive incident reporting, investigations, and risk management processes to ensure operational safety. Support the site management team with Safe System of Work (SSOW) and Permit to Work (PTW) systems. Ensure compliance with environmental permit application specifications, including biodiversity and landscape management plans. What We’re Looking For: A degree or equivalent in an Environmental or Health and Safety-related field, or substantial experience in a regulatory or supervisory role (desirable). Strong commitment to Health, Safety, and Environmental excellence, with a passion for continuous improvement. Attention to detail and a professional approach to confidentiality. A collaborative team player with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to develop practical solutions to complex challenges.
