Construction Warehouse Manager
Location: South Ockendon
Salary: GBP 35k to GBP 40k
We are seeking a highly organized and results-driven Warehouse Manager to oversee our warehouse operations for a construction company. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing inventory, ensuring efficient receipt, storage, and dispatch of goods, and leading a team to maintain optimal performance. The Warehouse Manager will play a crucial role in streamlining processes, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and improving overall warehouse efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Oversee the daily operations of the warehouse, including receiving, storing, and distributing goods.
2. Manage and lead a team of warehouse staff, ensuring productivity and adherence to company policies.
3. Develop and implement warehouse strategies to optimize storage, reduce waste, and improve efficiency.
4. Maintain accurate inventory records, conducting regular stock checks and audits.
5. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company procedures.
6. Collaborate with suppliers, logistics teams, and other departments to ensure smooth operations.
7. Implement and monitor performance metrics to improve warehouse efficiency.
8. Train and develop warehouse staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
9. Manage warehouse budgets, controlling costs and optimizing resource allocation.
10. Utilize warehouse management systems (WMS) to track shipments, stock levels, and workflow.
Key Requirements:
1. Proven experience as a Warehouse Manager or in a similar role.
2. Strong leadership and team management skills.
3. Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
4. Knowledge of warehouse management software and inventory control systems.
5. Understanding of health and safety regulations and best practices.
6. Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
7. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
8. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
9. Forklift certification (preferred but not essential).
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or a related field (preferred but not essential).
2. Relevant certifications in warehouse management or logistics.
3. Minimum of X years of experience in a warehouse management role.
