We have a rare and exciting opportunity for a permanent Band 3 Senior Health Care Assistant role on the Systemic Anti-Cancer Treatment Unit working between Royal Sussex County Hospital & Princess Royal Hospital.
We are looking for someone who strives for high standards of patient care to join our friendly and highly professional team at the Sussex Cancer Centre. The role involves direct patient care predominantly in the SACT Unit, but may also require work in the Outpatient department and our satellite unit at Princess Royal Hospital.
The post requires skills in venepuncture, cannulation, and good communication.

Main duties of the job
To be actively involved in delivering a high standard of individualised holistic patient care to promote and maintain all aspects of physical, social, cultural, and psychological wellbeing.
Working under the supervision of nursing staff, provide nursing care as part of the multi-disciplinary team to patients attending the unit. Communicate with and refer to other healthcare professionals as necessary.

Person Specification
Essential & Desirable
* NVQ Level 3 or equivalent
* Recent experience in a healthcare setting
* Ability to support in a healthcare setting
* Competent in venepuncture and cannulation
* Basic knowledge in Oncology/Haematology
* Able to use a scalp cooling machine
* Recognising an unwell patient
