Noak Bridge Pre-school, Breakfast and Afterschool Club and Out of School Clubs are looking for an enthusiastic person to join our team. We are looking for a qualified Early Years Practitioner with a minimum L3 qualification.
We are a wonderful, long-standing community pre-school in the heart of Noak Bridge Village. We are a non-profit charity setting that is governed by a committee made up of parent volunteers. We provide childcare for the community of Noak Bridge and surrounding areas of Laindon, Basildon, Wickford, and Billericay. Childcare is delivered in the form of breakfast and afterschool club, pre-school sessions, and holiday camps during non-term time, situated within the grounds of Noak Bridge Primary School, and you will become an integral part of a wonderful team.
This is a full-time, all-year-round role, working 35 hours a week Monday to Friday.
The Preschool is open from 7am to 6.00pm and Holiday Camps run between 9am and 4pm during non-term time, hours are coordinated to suit. The setting is open 49 weeks of the year.
Role Requirements
This job description is not an exhaustive list of duties and the post holder will be required to undertake any other reasonable duties discussed and directed by the line manager. The post holder is also expected to be flexible and adaptable in their approach to fulfilling their duties.
1. Full and relevant Early Years qualification - minimum Level 3
2. Full understanding and working knowledge of the EYFS
3. Awareness of the Ofsted inspection framework
4. Experience of working within a team and/or with young children
5. Safeguarding training - including knowledge of safeguarding and childcare protection procedures
6. An understanding of play-based approaches to children's learning and development
7. Experience of providing customer service and good communication skills
8. A commitment to working effectively with young children and families
9. Good understanding of health and safety requirements
10. Knowledge and commitment to equal opportunities legislation
11. Willingness to learn and undertake further training
12. Experience of leading a team and dealing with staff issues
13. Sound knowledge of child development from birth to five years
14. Experience of providing customer service
15. A friendly and flexible approach at work which facilitates the development of effective relationships
16. Paediatric first aid
17. Satisfactory DBS check
18. A higher Early Years qualification, or willing to study

Information about the School
Located within the grounds of Noak Bridge Primary School - Noak Bridge Pre-school has its own secure, designated building with child-friendly indoor and outdoor play areas. The Pre-school has been a part of the community for over 40 years and has been in the grounds of the Primary school for over 20 years.
We are fully registered and governed by Ofsted and offer a well-established setting. Our fully qualified staff maintains a high professional standard at all times and with a caring attitude allowing the children and their families to feel at home. We received an overall 'Outstanding' in our last Ofsted Inspection in October 2024.
The setting provides Breakfast Club, Pre-School Morning and Afternoon Sessions, Afterschool Club, and Holiday Clubs. We are open from 7am to 6pm during term time and 9am to 4pm during non-term time and are open for 49 weeks of the year. At Noak Bridge Pre-school, the child is at the heart of all we do. We believe that every child's voice matters as well as that of their families. The children here learn through play and exploration, we believe a fun and exciting environment is key to their future success.
