What’s new with Aptar
We have an exciting position open for Purchasing Manager, Freyung, Ckyne, Leeds. The Purchasing Manager is responsible for deploying global and regional purchasing strategies across three sites (Freyung, Ckyne, and Leeds). This role involves coordinating vendor relationships, implementing cost-saving measures, and ensuring compliance with procurement policies. The manager will also support site operations and contribute to overall business growth.
This is how your journey begins:
1. Strategy Deployment: Implement global and regional purchasing category strategies at Freyung, Ckyne, and Leeds.
2. Vendor Coordination: Organize vendor meetings at the site level, supporting procurement and quality functions with service and quality issues.
3. Cost-Saving Initiatives: Lead and implement saving activities at the site level.
4. Dual Sourcing: Lead and implement dual sourcing activities at the site level.
5. CAPEX Coordination: Ensure necessary CAPEX investments are coordinated with site operations and delivered on time and in full.
6. Savings Reporting: Provide updates to the AIP project manager on delivered savings.
7. Local Spend Management: Guide activities on local spend to avoid maverick buying.
8. Energy Management: Serve as the site counterpart for global energy management, including analysis and tracking of the South Germany energy market.
9. Growth Support: Support and contribute to growth at the three sites, assisting sales with potential bottlenecks.
10. Compliance Oversight: Ensure compliance with vendor payment terms and foster favorable payment terms with local vendors.
11. Accounting Liaison: Act as the point of contact for GBS accounting, handling the release of PT, invoices, etc.
12. Contract Negotiation: Negotiate local service contracts with small to medium vendors specific to the site.
13. Price Management: Manage and support the procurement team in pushing back against price increases.
14. Inflation Updates: Support updates on the inflation file.
15. Operational Interface: Serve as the interface between operations topics and vendors when needed.
What you will bring on the journey
1. Bachelor's Degree: Often in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
2. Advanced Certifications: Such as Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) or Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM).
3. Extensive Experience: At least 5-10 years in procurement or supply chain management, with a track record of managing large-scale purchasing operations.
4. Leadership Experience: Proven ability to lead and manage teams across multiple locations.
5. Strategic Planning: Ability to develop and implement purchasing strategies that align with organizational goals.
6. Negotiation Skills: Strong negotiation skills to secure favorable terms with suppliers.
7. Analytical Skills: Proficiency in analyzing market trends and procurement data to make informed decisions.
8. Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to coordinate with internal teams and external suppliers.
9. Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with procurement software and tools.
10. Adaptability: Willingness to work in a fast-paced, hands-on environment while managing multiple assignments with strict deadlines.
11. Collaboration: Ability to collaborate with and influence others who may have conflicting priorities or agendas.
12. Microsoft Office Proficiency: Skilled at using Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.).
