The post holder will: In partnership with the Head of IPC, as well as the Decontamination Lead Doctor, work with senior staff to develop, implement and review the decontamination policies, procedures and protocols. Provide effective visible leadership across CTMUHB, providing specialist advice to clinical and non-clinical areas in relation to all decontamination issues, ensuring a fully integrated approach is in place within the organisation, including risk management, surveillance and audit. Develop/ update audit tools and support the clinical departments to develop action plans for any non-conformances identified Work with others to minimise the risk of healthcare associated infections by arranging and supporting the development and delivery of training and education programmes to clinical staff groups. Work with Head of IPCto provide assurance to the IPC Doctor to ensure appropriate processes are in place to promote best practice and provide assurance to the Board around the management of decontamination practices/processes. Participate in regional and national events for decontamination. Work withHead of IIPCto undertake investigations of clinical incidents and/or failure of processes relating to decontamination following the Organisations policies and national guidance documents (e.g. WHTMs/ HTMs/ HBNs) and acting upon findings/ recommendations
