Underwriting Support
Location: Guildford
Salary: £45,000 + Benefits
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am-5pm - Hybrid Options Available
My client, who is within the Asset Leasing industry, is seeking an Underwriting Support to join their fast-growing team. In this role, your objective is to accurately assess all proposals within your remit while maintaining the delicate balance between approving and minimizing the bad debt risks for my client. In your daily business, you will follow a consistent approach, adhering to criteria defined by policies and procedures, which will vary according to financial and macroeconomic influences.
Daily Duties
1. Review the accuracy and completeness of all information and documents presented.
2. Enter relevant data for the assessment into GRENKE's IT management systems.
3. Analyze risk by obtaining all relevant/necessary information to support the evaluation/decision.
4. Make decisions within your defined credit limits.
5. Complete Credit Centre/HQ checklist requirements for those requests above country limit.
6. With commercial awareness, offer alternative solutions to ensure successful acceptance of the request.
7. Communicate the approval or rejection, providing the best customer experience and partner satisfaction.
Experience and Skills
1. Either a Degree in a related financial field (e.g., Economics or Management).
2. Or, a number of years of professional experience in Internal Sales or Credit Analysis with a funder.
3. A good understanding of global/macroeconomic events that may influence underwriting decisions or strategy.
4. Attention to detail.
5. Excellent and accurate administration skills.
6. Strong organizational and time management skills.
7. IT literate with accurate and efficient data entry capability, and experience in working with MS Office or other software and systems.
8. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
