Description & Requirements
On behalf of DWP, we are looking for a Data Architect for a 5 Month (Inside IR35) contract-based Hybrid role in Newcastle/Leeds/Manchester/Sheffield/Blackpool/Birmingham.
The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) is responsible for welfare, pensions, and child maintenance policy. As the UK’s biggest public service department, it administers the State Pension and a range of working age, disability and ill health benefits to around 20 million claimants and customers.
Working with DWP, you will be helping us to drive our priorities to:

As a Data Architect, your main responsibilities will be:
* Developing and implementing a data strategy that is in line with business processes.
* Identifying data sources, both internal and external, and working out a plan for data management that is aligned with organizational data strategy.
* Coordinating and collaborating with cross-functional teams for the smooth functioning of the enterprise data system.
* Managing end-to-end data architecture, from selecting the platform, designing the technical architecture, and developing the application to finally testing and implementing the proposed solution.
* Planning and execution of data solutions using common technologies such as Hadoop.
* Defining and managing the flow of data and dissemination of information within the organisation.
* Integrating technical functionality, ensuring data accessibility, accuracy, and security.
* Conducting a continuous audit of data management system performance, refine whenever required, and report immediately any breach or loopholes to the stakeholders.
Essential:
* Proficiency in data modeling and design, including SQL development and database administration.
* Understanding of predictive modelling, natural language processing and text analysis, along with Machine Learning.
* Ability to implement common data management and reporting technologies.
* Data mining, visualisation and machine learning skills.
* Team and stakeholder collaboration skills.
* Knowledge of code, including Python, Java and Perl.
* Knowledge of systems development, including system development life cycle, project management approaches and requirements, design and testing techniques.
