What you will be doing As a Nuclear Graduate within the Primary Build Organisation you can expect to spend time in one of the numerous and diverse teams helping to deliver the Dreadnought Programme. In the first weeks you will be shadowing and gaining an understanding of how the team contributes to delivering one of the most complex engineering projects on the planet. The roles are varied within the departments and will differ in each area, you will spend time in each of the areas below whilst you settle into your niche area and gain knowledge and experience as you go. The direction you take will be discussed at your regular reviews. Duties and Responsibilities Within the Primary Build Organisation there are many different teams you may be involved in. You will be placed within one of these teams for a period of 3/4 months, and rotate around the various areas. Some examples are below: • Integration Team – Gain experience of integrating and interaction with the op’s team to look at build readiness and forward planning while understanding all aspects of ownership of health and safety. • Manufacturing – Understand the process of risk management. Creating, understanding and adhering to manufacturing processes. • Nuclear Authorship Team – Learn all aspects of producing Nuclear Build and processes & procedures associated with the build programme. • Nuclear Manufacturing – Get to grips with the plant design and manufacture of all work carried out. • Nuclear Facility – Understanding the requirement of stakeholders and liaising with external customers. Sourcing equipment and looking at innovative solutions. • Fuelling/End Load Team – Learning all aspects of fuelling activities and be involved in the Lfe and continuous improvement. Skills As a minimum requirement you’ll need to have obtained, or be predicted to obtain, a 2.2 in your Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a STEM subject is applicable.
