Avondale Foods is a leading food processing company of Fresh and Chilled products supplying leading retail businesses including Marks & Spencer, Waitrose, Dunnes and Morrisons. The Technical Operations Managers will be site dedicated and report directly to the Technical Food Safety Manager. Each Technical Operations Manager is responsible for ensuring all key responsibilities are managed and product meets Customer and Company standards for conformance and food safety standards. Key Responsibilities The TechnicalOperations Manageroversees the technical aspects of production ensuring compliance and the successful execution of processes and factory standards are upheld. This role bridges technical teams and operational staff, implement solutions that align with the company goals. Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for technical and operational tasks. Work as a leader and mentor by providing guidance and training to the QA team, fostering professional growth and ensuring high-quality standards are consistently met. Facilitate communication between technical team and other department goals. Represent the technical department at Lean Board meetings to drive continuous improvement. Plan, coordinate and implement technical projects to ensure success and achievement of objectives. Monitor and mitigate risks related to technical operations by conducting risk assessments and troubleshooting issues. Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations and company policies. Prepare reports and present findings to Senior Management. Participate in the internal audits such as GMP, hygiene audits and systems audits. To assist in preparation and take part in external audits and visits. Management of non-conformance close outs and implement corrective actions. Assist in customer complaint investigations. Participate in NPD factory trials to support the development and successful implementation of new products. Ensure compliance with company protocol and policies when exercising disciplinary measures. Flexible to work evenings and weekends, when required, to meet business needs. Essential Criteria A degree in Food Science or a related technical field. Qualification in auditing 3 years experience in a technical management role Leadership skills with the ability to lead, motivate and manage team Excellent verbal and written communication skills for collaboration and reporting Proven analytical skills with the ability to analyse data, trouble shoot issues and implement solutions Experience with major retailers Strong problem solving and adaptability in fast paced environment Desirable Criteria Level 4 HACCP Lead Auditor training Experience in New Product Development (NPD) processes and factory trials Additional certifications in project management or Lean Manufacturing Skills: Operational Management Manage a team Operational activities Performance Improvement Accountability Benefits: Pension Fund Meal Allowance / Canteen Paid Holidays Wellbeing Initiatives Gym membership discounts
